Custom thread protection for your .22 LR rifle
Our thread protector for Tikka T1X is specifically aimed at the excellent rifle produced by the Finnish brand. Whether you own the .22 LR version or the .17 HMR version. It covers the 1/2 UNF thread at the muzzle of the barrel, preserving it from accidental shocks.
Because as we well know, damaging a rifle’s thread is often giving up the possibility of using a silencer. So in case of loss of your original thread protector, it is important to replace it without delay. This will prevent a small loss from becoming a big problem, because of a fall or a hectic transport. When it comes to firearms, negligence is a sin that can quickly cost a lot.
Naturally, we already produce a generic barrel thread protector 1/2 UNF or 1/2 UNEF, compatible with many long guns and handguns. But here you will have the pleasure of using an accessory designed specifically for your rifle. We talk about length, external diameter, and of course internal threading.
The thread protector for Tikka T1X : a careful manufacturing
To ensure a custom part that worth your rifle, we machine this thread protector on CNC machines. We carefully control the dimensions of each, after turning and after finish. The finish itself is also carried out in France, by professionals in industrial surface treatment. It is a hot bluing, to which our S235JR steel reacts perfectly.
In order to facilitate the screwing/unscrewing of this barrel thread protector, we make an external knurling. Again, rigor and state-of-the-art tools are put to good use for the best result.
To other custom-made thread protectors ?
With pleasure ! After all, why would Tikka T1X MTR owners be the only ones who can replace their lost thread protector ? We don’t fear spigots or exotic threads. So if our generic barrel thread protector linked above doesn’t seem suitable for your particular rifle, please contact us. Custom parts are our bread and butter.
Friends from America (and from elsewhere) beware. Tikka T1X MTR for sale in your home market may not be threaded in 1/2 UNF. As a reminder, this thread is also known as 1/2×20 TPI, and is considered standard in Europe for .22 LR weapons. But perhaps the importers and gunsmiths of your country had other opportunities…
