Our range of custom parts is now enriched with the Varmint Microcomp thread protector, specific to heavy guns. The idea remains the same: protecting the thread at the muzzle of your rifle with a custom part more aesthetic than a simple traditional ring.

The heavy barrel version is characterized by an integral cylindrical profile with an external diameter of 22 mm (.866″). It will therefore be perfect for rimmfire rifles with a barrel of this thickness. Examples include the CZ457 Varmint, Ruger American Rimfire Target, Sako Quad Range…

Features of the Varmint Microcomp Varmint thread protector

This custom piece features 3 vents at 60° for perfect symmetry. So you can screw it on your weapon with peace of mind: it will always thigh right. No indexation needed.

The small notches on its outer surface offer a good grip for screwing/ unscrewing, while giving it a pretty modern look.

To discourage use on large caliber weapons, the front of this ring has a hole of only 6 mm (.236″). The Varmint Microcomp is therefore compatible with .22 LR, . 22 Magnum and . 17 HMR, but not beyond.

To suit the American public as well as the European public, we produce this thread protector in the 2 standards:

• 1/2×20 TPI (also called ½ UNF)
• 1/2×28 TPI (also known as ½ UNEF)

We make these rings in the same aluminium 7075 T6 as the classic model. The Varmint Microcomp thread protector also receives a professional black anodizing that will protect it from corrosion.
