Custom part for .22 LR pistol
Our Microcomp thread protector for pistol is a scaled-down version of the standard version. This time, the external diameter is fixed, to match the slim barrel of a rimfire handgun.
The idea remains the same: to protect the thread at the muzzle of your gun when no accessory is occupying it. This while enhancing the weapon’s visual appeal with a little compensator / flash hider look.
A two-in-one solution, but one that requires a protruding barrel. .22 LR pistols with threads inside the slide will not be compatible. These include the Walther P22, Ruger SR22 and others. These require an adapter to extend the native thread outside the slide and convert it.

This custom part has 6 grooves on its outside diameter. Here again, the benefit is twofold: it’s aesthetically pleasing and makes tightening and loosening easier.
The ring also features 3 symmetrical 60° vents. No need for indexing washers or crush washer.
To suit as many guns as possible, we offer this barrel accessory in two threads:
- ½ UNF (also known as 1/2×20 TPI, the thread commonly used in Europe)
- ½ UNEF (also known as 1/2×28 TPI, the thread commonly used in the USA)
Note, however, that the restriction to .22 LR is due to the internal bore diameter: 7 mm (.275″). Be careful not to fire larger calibres.

Each Microcomp thread protector for pistol is made from 7075 T6 aircraft-grade aluminum bar. We process this excellent raw material on state-of-the-art CNC machines.
For flawless durability, aluminum parts must undergo a high-quality anodizing process. We therefore entrust these thread protectors to a French specialist in industrial surface treatment. The result lives up to this professional know-how.
