The M14x1 can be found on handguns and long guns. By the way, we already produce a thread protector for M14x1. This one covering only 7/16″ of thread, it is intended for pistols, and more specifically for Glocks in 9×19/.40 S&W. A thread protector for M14x1 rifle was therefore necessary.

The one on this page covers 5/8″ of male thread. It will be perfect for European hunting rifles, including Browning ones (Maral, X-Bolt, BAR…). It can also be used on some Tikka T3 or on some CZ 557 with sporting barrel. Generally speaking, any rifle with a right-hand M14x1 thread (also known as M14x100 RH) will be compatible.

Why use a barrel thread protector?

On a firearm, the thread at the end of the barrel is intended to use a silencer, a muzzle brake or a flash hider. But to do this, it is necessary that the thread in question is in perfect condition. So in case of loss or degradation of the original accessory, it is imperative to quickly replace it with our thread protector for M14x1 rifle. Keep in mind that a bare thread is a thread on borrowed time.

In the event of a lost thread protector, the temptation to leave a suppressor permanently mounted on the weapon exists. But you must not yield to it. This is because a silencer that remains screwed at the end of the barrel would become a potentially corrosion-generating air pocket.
