European manufacturers prefer to equip their pistols with metric threads. But the Americans opt instead for imperial threads. So we offer a thread adapter M13.5×1 LH to 1/2×28 TPI to reconcile the two.
The M13.5×1 LH is a 13.5 mm outer diameter thread, which is screwed on by turning counterclockwise. So we can also hear about M13.5 “left-hand” or “reverse thread”.
The 1/2×28 TPI, on the other hand, is a right-hand thread that is ½ inch in outer diameter. It has a thread density of 28 crests per inch, thus falling into the category of Extra Fine Threads (UNEF).

Compatibility of the thread adapter M13.5×1 LH to 1/2×28 TPI
The thread converter we offer on this page is designed for semi-automatic handguns. It will therefore only cover a maximum thread lenght of 14 mm (0.55″).
We bore its internal diameter to fire 9×19 mm. Thus it will be perfect for the following weapons (non exhaustive list):
- Glock 17 and 19 generation 4 and 5 threaded
- Heckler & Koch (VP9 Tactical, USP SD…)
- Canik (TP9 Elite Combat, TP9 SFX…)
- Sig Sauer (P226 threaded, MK25 Navy…)
- Steyr M9A1 threaded (not those made directly for the US market, already in 1/2 UNEF)

Our thread adapter M13.5×1 LH to 1/2×28 TPI will allow the use of a silencer, with or without a Nielsen Device. But you can also use it to equip your gun with a muzzle brake for speed shooting for example.
To withstand the high firing rates, we machine this thread converter from XC38 steel. It is also called C35 steel, and has excellent mechanical characteristics. We work it on CNC machines to get the best out of it.
