Our thread adapter 1/2×28 TPI to 5/8×24 TPI transforms your rifle’s muzzle thread in a simple, reversible way.

Because not all guns have the same thread. That’s what our site and our products are all about. But there is a certain amount of standardization by caliber and type of weapon. Thus American AR15 in .223 Rem are classically in 1/2×28 TPI. European .30 caliber rifles tend to be in M14x1. And so on.

But sport shooters and hunters may also need to break with these industrial habits. From a thread dedicated to 5.56 mm, to a thread designed for 7.62 mm. This is the purpose of the silencer adapter on this page.

The second version of our thread adapter 1/2×28 TPI to 5/8×24 TPI.

For the sake of clarity : the 1/2×28 TPI is also sometimes referred to as 1/2 UNEF. Similarly, 5/8×24 TPI can also be called 5/8 UNEF. Both are therefore unified extra fine threads (UNEF = UNified Extra Fine).

That said, they have such a gap in outer diameter that the two can be superimposed (one male, the other female) within a suppressor adapter. This reduces the overall length of the part, and that’s what we used to do.

But to make this converter even more robust, we offer you the second version here. Here, the two threads follow one another, one length after the other. Both the 1/2 UNEF female and the 5/8×24 TPI male benefit from maximum wall thickness, to take the brunt of even the largest calibers.

We machine the adapter’s internal channel to a diameter of 9 mm (.354″), to allow almost any projectile to pass through. But the part is designed for long guns. If you want to convert your 9 mm pistol’s 1/2×28 TPI thread to something else, choose a custom-made pistol silencer adapter instead.
