Mount a silencer on your AK47 GSG in .22 LR
The German Sport Guns company mainly produces .22 LR firearms, reproducing the aesthetics of the most famous assault rifles. Among these is naturally the legendary Kalashnikov, in a rimfire version dedicated to plinking and recreational shooting. The silencer adapter for GSG AK47 is intended to this one.
Once mounted on your .22 LR AK, it allows the use of a suppressor, to limit the sound of gunshots. The user can then take advantage of more discreet sessions, caring for the immediate neighborhood. With subsonic ammunitions, it will even become possible to shoot without ear protection.
How does the silencer adapter for GSG AK47 work?
The GSG AK47 rifle does not have an interface to add a suppressor out of the box. Yes there is a female thread in the front sight block, but it is only used to accommodate the nozzle ending the barrel. It is precisely this nozzle simulating a thread protector that we offer to replace with our silencer adapter.
This adapter has two male ends. The larger one corresponds to the proprietary thread and is screwed into the front sight block of the rifle. The smallest one is the thread that will receive your silencer. Please note that we took care to make two flat sides on the outer diameter of the adapter. So you can use a simple 11/16″ wrench to firmly screw it .
Which suppressor can I use then ?
Our silencer adapter for GSG AK47 offers an output thread of 1/2 UNF or 1/2 UNEF of your choice.
The 1/2 UNF is the standard thread in Europe for .22 LR silencers, also known as 1/2×20 TPI. The 1/2 UNEF is the standard thread in the USA for .22 caliber silencers in the broadest sense, also referred to as 1/2×28 TPI. Choose yours based on the most common suppressors available in your country.
When no silencer occupy this thread, we advise you to protect it with a suitable thread protector.
