The silencer adapter for Umarex S&W 586 or 686: a must have for your CO2 revolver
Our silencer adapter for Umarex S&W 586 or 686 is for all airgunners who want to be more discreet. Because while the use of a suppressor on a firearm is common, it is rarer on a pellet gun. However, it is the most commonly used weapon for home plinking, since it can easily be used without specialized infrastructure.
Of course, in the absence of a pyrotechnic reaction, it is not a matter of expanding the gases born of the detonation. But to break the sound wave produced by the shot, preventing it from resonating in the shooter’s environment. In a way, we “muffle” the pop of CO2, which saves the tranquility of the neighbors.
Unfortunately, most airguns do not have threads ready for a silencer. This is where we come into play with a specialized solution, as always.
Compatibility and mounting of the silencer adapter for Umarex S&W 586 or 686
The adapter proposed on this page consists of two threads. A female thread that cover the barrel end of your airgun. And a male thread ready to welcome the suppressor of your choice. This male thread can be 1/2×20 TPI (1/2 UNF) or 1/2×28 TPI (1/2 UNEF). It’s up to you to make your choice when placing your order. So you just have to screw on the adapter at the end of the gun to benefit a common silencer interface in Europe or in the US.
This custom piece can be used with Umarex’s Smith and Wesson pellet revolvers. Here we are talking about the Smith and Wesson 586 in 4″ and 6″, but also the Smith and Wesson 686 in 6″. It will be exclusive to these 3 double-action revolvers, and therefore cannot be diverted to other CO2 airguns.
What silencers can I use then?
Once our adapter is mounted on your 4.5 mm pellet gun, its male thread can accommodate any silencer in 1/2 UNF or 1/2 UNEF (depending on the choice you make when you placed your order). The 1/2 UNF is the standard thread for .22 LR suppressors in Europe. The 1/2 UNEF is the standard thread for .22 LR suppressors in USA. Thus you are opening the door to major manufacturers, and their fully efficient baffle silencers (unlike airsoft silencers, often just aesthetics).
If you need another thread version, contact us, we’ll consider making you a special one.
